| 2011 - Good year for Norwood Park Businesses
The citywide campaign to promote and support local businesses reflects the trend and the need to pay closer attention to our neighborhood business resources rather than running to big box stores with all our needs,
The year 2011 has come to an end and we are happy to report that several new businesses have chosen Norwood Park as home.
The Norwood Park Ace Hardware store at 5907 N. Northwest Highway had their grand opening on March 31st. We all the the proverbial 101 items for our households, now we can buy them right here, in Norwood Park!
In late summer a charming, artisan creations and vintage items store, What Knots, opened at 6127 N. Northwest Highway.
A true mine of treasures from the past!
On 11/11/11 we welcomed The Dish, Norwood Park’s long awaited eatery featuring delicious menus and charming circuses.
The grand opening was attended by enthusiastic local residents who now have a local eatery, finally!
The 6060 Plaza mall, adjacent to Norwood Park Train Station has been completed and is in the process of accommodating new businesses. The T Nail Salon is already open for business.
The MoDaley restaurant and a Subway franchise will soon be open for business, good news indeed for Norwood Park.
The 6165 N. Northwest Highway location will soon be home to Norwood Market, an upscale grocery/produce store which stood vacant for several years. An opening is planned for this spring!
And finally, at 6828 W. Raven we have greeted a brand new Raven Street Salon, a Spa/Beauty/Personal Care salon.
The year 2011 was indeed good for Norwood Park and brought us closer the goal of revitalizing Northwest Highway!
It is up to all of us now to shop locally and to encourage others to spend money, right here in Norwood Park! |
